About our Homeschool

By age, our children are in the following grades (2024-25 school year):

Abraham, college age

Sebastian, college age

Malachi, graduating from high school this year

Daisy, 10th grade
Juniper, 8th grade
Marigold, 6th grade
Theodore, 4th grade

Ezekiel, 1st grade

We also have Gus (5) and Clementine (3) tagging along!

We belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

We spent the first half of the 2024-25 school year living in Québec City where we studied French and immersed ourselves in the history and culture of the area!

We use a variety of homeschool methods, primarily Unit Studies we write ourselves. We rely heavily on our county's excellent inter-library loan system.

For math, we are currently using Life of Fred and Saxon math for up to Pre-Algebra or so. We have a great math teacher we've used beyond that point: https://www.grtutor.com/classes-schedule

For spelling, we are currently using Rod and Staff.

For grammar, we are currently using The Language Mechanic and Easy Grammar Plus

For handwriting, we have used Handwriting Without Tears and A Reason for Handwriting.
Around kindergarten age, we have taught the children to read using this book.
